Celebrated Their Golben [Wedding*Mr. :tnd Mrs. George EL Bruce, re- j siding near King Station, celebrated their golden wedding Wednesday, Oct.18, having been married tifty years that day.Mr. and Mrs. Bruce were married in Crawford county in IS4o. A short time after they came to Gibson county and have resided near Kings Station or Princeton ever since.iMrs. Bruce was Miss Sarah Reynolds j and was born in Ohio, She is 70 years j of age, while her husband is GO. They j are among the county’s most highly es- | teemed citizens.There are eight of the Bruce children all of whom are married except George M. Bruce. Thirt-v-five grand children j and eight great grand children. jMr. and Mrs. Bruce celebrated the! event by giving a sumptuous dinner to i the neighbors and friends. There was j a large attendance in spite of the rainy j weather, there being between forty and j tifty people present. There were many people disappointed as there were about J**sixty guests prepared to come out from jPrinceton, also from Owensville and jPosevvilie. Thev received manv beau- !* % * t'4tiful presents, some of them were a set jjof solid oak bottom dining chairs, a beautiful dining table, a gold watch each from G. M. Bruce. Thev also got watch chains, a gold ash tray for Mr, Bruce and a gold pin tray and ink well for Mrs. Bruce. Mrs. Anna Eliza Hud- j elson gave them $5.00 gold pieces and j several other smaller articles, jThe children are Mrs. B. F. Wiley, j Mrs. George Straw!) of Snakernu, Mrs, I K. J. Welman of Ft. Branch, Mrs. Jas. ; Bruce, Mrs. Thomas Byrd and George 1 M Brace of Princ.vton, Alfred Bruce of j King* Station and Mrs. H T, Rose of j W.'ichsville. |%All the children and a good many of the grand children were present and was enjoyed by all and a day that will►be long rembered bv all uresenl-.
