RIPE OLD AGE.Mr. Simoa Fest, Sr., Yet Young atSeventy-one.Yesterday was the seventy-first natal anniversary of Mr. Simon Fest, Sr., and he celebrated the event at his home on Sinton street.Last night there was a social gathering at his residence, of the many intimate friends of the genial old gentlemen, and mirth and good wilt reigned. Refreshments were served In plenty and were served freely.During yesterday the may warm friends of Mr. Fest called and paid their compliments and extended their congratulations..Mr. Fest is one of San Antonio's oldest inhabitants. He came here fifty-one years ago and has resided here ever since, making one of her foremost and respected citizens, always being ready to do his part in any enterprise for the city's -well fare.The large number of citizens who knew the genial old gentleman when he first located here say that he does not appear a year older now than when he first settled here, so remarkably has he held his youthful appearance.Mr. Fest has children and grandchildren who residede in this city also, all his sons being like their respected father, substantial citiiens and business men.
