What next?You’ll have to admit, however, that it’s an interesting and novel idea.Four Delta Gamma pledges became full-fledged members in initiation services Wednesday night at the DG lodge. New wearers of the golden anchor are Marty Smith and Terry Melton of Dallas, and Ann Armstrong and Judy Blank of Lubbock.For a week prior to their initiation, the four Pledges wore the traditional whiteTniddies and navy skirts. An inspirational sendee and party was featured every day during the week.Word has it that two Techxans were married a week ago Saturday here in Lubbock. The bride and gridegroom avc Eva Jo M'ller and Soapy Sudberry, both of Amarillo. Eva Jo is a Theta pledge.Phi Delt DancePhi Delta Theta fraternity went all out Saturday night with a Vik-ihg Dance.Some of the couples there were Sandy Hamilton and Bill Dean, Linda Roberts and Woody Brownlee, Cam Murray and Mike Owen, Alice Word and Ronnie Thompson, Donna Pearson and Gerald Snodgrass, Betty Sue Meinecke and Gene Boyd, Pat Ramer and Ken Talkington, Delia Close and Don Hunt, Leta Merle Roberts and Gib Weaver, Mary Kay Carr and Charlie Draper.Also Linda Osborne and Sandy Lynch, Bobby Stafford and Diana Smith. Margie Hatton and JohnWesley Chism, Myrl Raines and Mike Robinson, Kay Woody and Jerry Ricker, Enna McDaniel and Clayton Cook, Ann Denny and Milton Vaughan, Sharon English and Dewey Bryant.Techsans had a field day at professional entertainment this week. Quite a few students were seen at the Tommy Sands show Thursday night, and even more took in Auntie Mame Friday and Saturday nights.Congratulations to Judy Ford, sophomore from Fort Worth who was recently named Pi Kappa Alpha Gardenia Girl for the month of October. Judy received the symbolic gardenia when the fraternity serenaded her Wednesday night. She is a member of Delta Gamma sorority.Congratulations are also in order for four Tech coeds chosen among the top five finalists in the South Plains Maid of Cotton contest last week. First alternate was Annette Rose, a DG. Fourth and fifth spots went to Carolyn Symes, a member of Alpha (.’hi Omega sorority, and Marilyn Warren, a Theta. Incidentally, Yvonne Skinner, a Tech senior, mis the winner and as such, will receive a trip to the national Maid of Cotton contest in Memphis, Tenn., in December.Sorority RetreatsTwo sororities are taking advantage of this open weekend for football to have retreats. The Tri-Delts left at noon yesterday for Ceta Canyon and the Thetas are retreating at the Episcopal Camp in Amarillo. Both groups will return tonight.A football game between members and pledges, discussion groups and skits are to be included in the Tri Delts’ activities.Linda Wetsel of Sherman will be revealed as the best pledge.Daters this weekend included Pat Taylor and Chris Blocker, Sally Jo LeMond and Royce Newsom, Gail Delcambre and Fred- :MRS.
