Miss Price received her early schooling in thecity schools and graduated fromOak Park High School. She holds honorary doctorates from Cen-; tral State University, Wilber-force, Ohio and Rust College, Holly Springs. She received her bachelor’s degree in 11148 fromCentra! State University, andthence to Julliard School of Music where she completed her musical education.In her early years. Miss Price was active in the work of St. Paul Church where her parents, the late James A. Price and his wife. Kate Baker Price, were members. The mother is still an active member of the church.Miss Price has contributed generously to the new church edifice, including the gift of its pipe oi-gan. It was a recent contribution, by her which made it possible for the indebtedness to becleared at this time.The great voice of LeontynePrice is not restricted to what might be called the ivory tower of the great classics. She has a happy awareness and genteel sympathy with the songs calledpopular.The Rev. Allen Johnson, pastor, extends a cordial invitation to’the public to hear Miss Price.
