Dexter observed their 57th: wedding anniversary with -a family. c» party at their summer cottage on the New Athol road yesterday. They were (married in Athol on Opt, 24, lBTS^h^ihe^ricie's^naiden-was Minnie E.:Graves. The couple) ^B^W^fangeJ^Uowiiig,4he^re^ mony and have lived here since,-Mr. Dexter is a native of Orange and ft descendent / of one of the first families to settle in this, district. He was graduated .from the Orange high school with tfiat in-/ititution’s first class; with three others, in 1376. He went to Michigan to work. In his uncle’s -store.' for about a year and also went to JicMpl-lif-Enfield- jbefore-his marriage. For several years he was employed in the crating ;department*• of the New Home Sewing Machine company, and was connected with.Ithe Chase Turbine- company fory_aboul_AO.^ars.J^-rctiI^-severo fyears ago after holding the highest office and the controlling interest in the concern for some time., Mr. Dexter was also interested in breeding live , stock and owned and operated the Dexter stock farm for several years.Ho is a. prominent member of the Baptist .cliurch and was superintendent of the. Sunday school for 17 years and is still a teacher. if. the school, ty? was a prime mover of the. Wheeler chapel which was built in the Wheelcrville section ol town years ago. and is a. charter member of the .locn 1• miih-oX~.N^-r• Mrs. Dexter is a member of,-the Methodist church. The couple lias three ;• children; George A. Dexter and Mrs... Walter Chapman of Orange, and Arthur Dexter of Littleton, N.
