Leifheit.Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. William Leif* heit, residents of Albert Lea for the paat year, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs Leifheit felt far away from their friends and relatives on the morning of the anniversary and were indeed made happy by the arrival of many of those dear to them. The gathering at the Leifheit home on Clark street was a surprise to the guests of honor, who had expected to spend the day alone.Those present were a daughter, Mrs. Garis, and her husband and son, Karl, and daughter. Mrs. Theora Jensen, and her husband from Madella, a daughter, Mrs. Alma Johns, who is at home, and her son, Elmer, a brother. George Bader, and his wife from State Center, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hennis, and son, John, and daughters, Gertrude, Mildred, Prances, and Mrs. Clarence Henry, and i her husband, Mr. and Mrs. William Hennis, all from Madelia. Mr. and Mrs. Leyer from Blue Earth, and a niece, Mrs. Fred Neural, and her hus- j band, and their little daughter, and' Mr. and Mrs, Ernest Brady from State Center, Mr. and Mrs. Weber of Court street and Mr. and Mrs. Cook from Walters. Two grandchildren, Carrie and Kenneth Hennis were unable to be present.Mr. and Mrs. Leifheit. who were married at Skate Center, Marshall county, Iowa, October 22, 1874, are both in good health.Mrs. Leifheit it 67 years of age and Mr. Leifheit is 76. Among the guests of Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. George Bader and Wm. Hennis were present at the wedding in 1874.Mr. and Mrs. Leifheit spent the early, days of their married life on a farm near 8tate Center and twenty years ago moved to a farm near Madelia. They came to Albert Leaabout a year ago.The visitors had with them many good things to eat so a bountiful noonday dinner was spread.• As a remembrance of the occasion and a token of the regard of those present, several gold jpieces and two beautiful plates, one of gold, werepresented to the honored couple. Adaughter, Melia, who Is a nurse atRochester, was unable to be present and sent to her mother and father a great bunch of golden and white chrysanthemuns.
