Surprise Birthday DinnerSunday, October 19, being the Jacobs* triplets, Jerald, John and Junior, 18th birthday, it was decided to have a surprise dinner for them. Sun-j day morning came, and their! father, who is employed at the Browning Lumber Co.,i during the week, and Loren Elliott, began work putting brick siding on the house and the boys were helping them, iAlong toward the noon the different families began to arrive with boxes well filled with food. Two tables were loaded with food. The centerpiece was a large angel food cake which their Grandma Lay had baked for them, with 18 candles, and a bouquet of mixed flow'ers Mrs. Emma Rottmann gave them.When everything wras ready the men were called to dinner and “Happy Birthday” was sang to the boys, who w'ere really surprised. Then everyone began to eat, and oh how we ate! After the tables were cleared away, Dowell Creason and family furnished some very nice music for the crowd. The ladies went up to Mrs. Arthur Jacobs’ and Mrs. Clifton Quigley and Mrs. Dowell Creason played the piano for us, which we all enjoyed.Those present to enjoy the lovely dinner and day together were: Mr. and Mrs. John Simmons and daughter, Joyce Ann, Mrs. Ethel Ginder and Sharon, Mrs. Marion Jacobs, Mrs. Carletta Bragg and son, Garry and Mrs. Orpha Shoemaker, all of Linneus, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Quigley, Janice and Janett, Mr. and Mrs. Bev Creason, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jacobs and Dewain, Mr. and Mrs. Ora Majors of Kirksville, Mr. and Mrs, Dowell Creason and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jacobs and children. The boys received a nice gift. At a late hour everyone departed wishing the ‘trip*’’ many more happy birthdays.
