He celebrates Benediction every Sunday in the St. Anthony’s Convent chapel and says two Sunday masses at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jersey-ville.“It keeps me moving,” he said with a laugh.Born in Springfield Oct. 22, 1911, he was one of five children of George and Ellen Suddes. His two sisters are Dominican nuns, Sister Imel-da and Sister Mary, bothretired and living in the Sacred Heart convent in Springfield.His brother, George, retired from the Bunn Co. of coffee maker fame, lives in Florida. Younger brother Tom, who worked for a telephone company, died in 1970.It was the training Suddes 1 got in Catholic school in j Springfield that led him to the * priesthood, he said.
