StJohn Beats MaypearlAs was mentioned in yesterday’s column, the Lions will be in a new district with some new teams. Ennis has played all the teams at one time or another except one and that is Rockwall. I found out last night that Ennis will be in 6-AAA and this is a complete run down of district members:. Ennis, DeSoto, Lancaster, Waxahachie, McKinney, Gainesville, Bonham, Seagoville, Terrell and Rockwall. In our neighboring city to the West this has been declared Beat Ennis Week. People from this neighboring were out in force last evening and were proudly showing off their green and white Beat Ennis buttons It seems rather strange for a team to focus all attentions to one game to determine if a season is a success or not. Claw an IndianThe Tribe may be a year ortwo away as they carry 17 sophomores on their varsity but 8-11 of them starting or playing quite a bit. These young Braves will be ready to play like seasoned vets come Friday night. But it will take more than Beat Ennis jerseys or Cuma II signs. I’m sure the Indians will be higher than the perverbial kite. But it seems like the only thing that the Indians need to get high is to play someone in maroon and white. Gaw anIndian!!!The Lion defense is somethingto behold as they have yielded but 13 points in the last 18 quarters, the Lion offense has really shown great progress over the same amount of time and are running in a North-South direction. The Lions are primed and ready to strike anI Indian.__•_ _G O L IONSWAXAHACHIE!!!♦ I •BEATSPORTSSCEN6the other team inbounds the ball to begin the second and thirdperiodsCHICAGOBasketball- The NationalAssociation hasapproved a rule limiting use of the jump ball and tabled a recommendation to add a third«* Afl# hiuaiiA t/amPSMONTREAL - Some three thousand workers are off the job for a third day at the construction site for the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympicrn*---— — —. mhaI aThe St. John Crusaders took 3 games from the Maypearl Panthers Tuesday evening atthe St. John Gym.The Varsity girls won athrilling overtime battle fromthe Pantherettes 37-36.
