BACK BROKEN IN FALL FROM TREEWILLIAM D SALLEE DIED ATMONMOUTH HOSPITAL TH4SAFTERNOONWilliam D. Sallee, of near Smith-shire, passed away this afternoon at Monmouth hospital at 1:30 o’clock as the result of injuries received when he fell from a hickory tree In a timber north of his home yesterday afternoon. Sallee, with a number of companions were gathering nuts and while he was in a tree he lost his hold on the limbs and crashed to the ground. He was rushed to Monmouth hospital immediately after the \ accident and an examination proved that his back was broken. The youna man was 2 7vears Of age and bis death causes general sorrow among his many friends. He was a farmer and was well known in the south part of the county.It seems Sallee and a number of companions were gathering hickory nuts and that thev came to a tree heavily laden. Sallee volunteered to climb the tree in order to shake the nuts to the ground and it was as he was busily engaged in doing this that he fell. When his friends reached him it was seen that he was badly hurt and that he had lost control of his lower limbs. The trip from the country to the hospital was made in record time but the physicians attending the young man, after . con-. ducting an examination, stated that he could not recover.
