La^t Sunday, October 18*b, a veryinteresting party was given at the country home of Dr. Charles Angel), near Pittsburg. The occasion was the anniversary of the doctor’s seventy* fourth birthday. Dr. Aogell was born October 18,1822, and came to Carroll county when he was thiee years old, bis parents having settled here in 1825. There were present as guests Mr. Vine Holt, aged eighty three;Robert Holt, aged eighty one; Dr. F. G, Armstrong, aged seventy* four; L. B. Sims, aged seventy'two; R. L. Higginbotham, aged sixty*three and William Bradshaw, aged fifty nine. Dr. Armstrong and Vine and Robert Holt came to this county in 1829, Mr. Sims in 1845, Mr. Higginbotham in 1856 and Mr. Bradshaw in 1858. It was distinctively a pioneer meeting.
