Galindo-VanderweideJessica Elizabeth Galindo and Timothy Jay Vanderweide, both of Garden City were mar ried Aug. 11, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City The 1 p.m., double ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Colin Boor.The bride is the daughterof Gabriel and Maria Galindo of Garden City and the grand daughter of Juan and Graciela Hernandez of Deerfield.The groom’s parents are Byron and Debbie Pittman of Garden City. He is the grandson of Joe and Marjorie Vanderweide of Garden City; and Charles and Mary Sader of Hutchinson.Maid of honor wasMichelle Galindo, the bride's sister from Manhattan. Bridesmaids were Karla Martinez and Emily Rishel, both of Manhattan; and Ada Seijas of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.Best man was Bryan Vanderweide, the groom’s brother from Garden City. Groomsmen were Jeremy Martinez of Manhattan; Gabriel Galindo, the bride’s brother from Manhattan; and Jason Pittman, the groom’s brother from Kansas City MoBennette Hernandez, of Carrollton. Texas, was the flower girl. Ringbearer was Nicholas Freeland, the groom’s nephew from Topeka.Serving as ushers were Chris Martinez of Manhattan, and Zekie Olave of Garden CityTimothy and Jessica VanderweideDelores Mesa-Ixpez, organist. and Katie Hahn, soloist, both of Garden City, provided music. Selections included “Ave Maria,” “Canon in D*and “The Prayer”The ceremony was followed by a reception, given by the couple’s parents, at Fiesta Courtyard in Garden City.The bride graduated from Garden City High School in 2003 and from Kansas State University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary life sciences. She is a GTEAP (Grants to Encourage Arrest Policies) staff assistant for the Kansas Coalition against Sexual and Domestic Violence, Topeka,The groom graduated from Garden City High School in 2003. He is a full time student at Washburn University and is employed at Red Lobster in Topeka.After a wedding trip to San Isabel National Forest in SanIsabel, Colo., the newlyweds are at home in Topeka.
