They were married on October 4. 1940 in the Evangelical United Brethren church and their attendants, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Johansen (Beverly P a I m e r)were unable to be present.■ S3-Mr. and Mrs. Compton are the jparents of 12 children, Mrs. Gil-jbert (Sharon) Phillips, Illinois;iMrs. James (Judy) Ebinger, Brainerd: Gene Compton, Illi* jnois; Peggy Compton, Minneapolis; Steven, Jim, Jesse, David, Nate, Janice and Colleen ofBrainerd. One daughter Kathy Compton died. Robin Ebinger, a granddaughter was also present.Mr. and Mrs. James Ebinger were host and hostess for theoccasion.For her special day Mrs, 'Compton chose a street length dress of red and black Jersey with matching accessories. Mrs. ! Ebinger presented her mother with a corsage of white carnations with silver leaves and rib-!bon, and her father with a whiteI carnation boutonniere. jThe serving table was covered j !with a white crocheted table!cloth and was highlighted with a four Her anniversary cake1 baked and decorated by Mrs. E^.d Ebinger. Each tier was trimmed with miniatureroses and silver leaves, made by Mrs. Len Zugschwert and flanked by a silver and white vase with pink and white carnations presented to the honored couple by Mr. and Mrs.' Forest j Compton. «The anniversary cake was cut; and served by Mrs. L. P. Schultes; Mrs. Len Zugschwert ipoured coffee; Mrs. Nate Baxter served punch; Miss Janice Compton was in charge of the guest book.Mr. and Mrs. Compton’s daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Phillips, called from 111., for the special event.All Mr. Compton’s brothers and sisters were able to be present.
