ICOLUMBUS DAY ceremony at May Allen School included raising a 50-star flag on a new 40-foot flag pole erected by the John Weibel post of the VFW. Pat Kindle, quartermaster, left, and Ed Redmond, commander, watch as Mary Commander raises the flag. Leslie Smith, Janice Sheppard, Mrs. Vera Bielengerg and Carolyn Bromley salute. Mrs. Bielenberg is executive director of the Whooping Crane Council of the Girl Scouts.
