Mr. and Mrs. Ernest KuessowKuessow Store in 190.r»Came Here to Build a Store, Found a Bride 50 Years AgoErnest Kuessow came to Kenosha in 1904 to build a store, and he found a bride. Today. 50 years after his wedding, he no longer operates that business, but his wife is with him to celebrate their golden anniversary.The Kuessow grocery shop was at Roosevelt Rd. and 24th Ave., in a building now' housing the Lttech sheet metal company. At that time 26th Ave. was the western city limits, so the store was on the outskirts of the town rather than in its heart.Mr. Kuessow used a horse and wagon to deliver grocery' orders. The buggy is shown in the picture above, in which Mrs. Kuessow is at the right, standing next to her husband.Marriage of the Kuessows took place on Oct. 25, 1905, in Kenosha. The couple has one son, William, who lives here with his wife and three children.Celebration of the anniversary will take place at open house from 3 until 9 o’clock Sunday, Oct. 23. at the Mae-whyte clubrooms.Mrs. Kuessow was born in McHenry, 111. Mr. Kuessow', a member of the Eagles club and the United Commercial Travelers, was born in Oconomowoc. j
