He led the movement to get congressional appropriations two years ago to build the projected $100,000 Fort Hall memorial museum. The monument has been approved, is yet to be financed.Dr. Howard retired from active practice In 1046 after having the satisfaction of seeing his four sons become physicians. He had been a.president of the chamber of commerce and was active in the Kiwanis club. Portncuf Masonic ledge. Gate City Commandcry and the Congregational church. A World War 1 veteran, he served as a major in the army medical corps.He was born July 26. 1868, in Portsmouth, O.. a son of Nelson 1. and Frances Folln Howard. He was graduated from the University of Kansas in 1896 with a bachelor of arts degree and received his doctor of medicine degree from the medical college there fn 1809. Post graduate work followed in New York university, the University of Vienna, Austria, the Rochester clinics. University of Chicago andwife practiced with him in Poca-... for nearly 20 years. Surviving are his widow, foursons: Dr. Nelson J. Howard, resident surgeon at Stanford univer-alty; Dr. Francis E. Howard, surgeon In Redwood City, C»L, citric; Dr. Richard P. Howard and Dr. Forreat H. Howard, Pocatello; also a brother and two slaters. Earl Howard. Kuna, Ida.; Mrs. William Kaufman. Clyde. Kan, and Mrs. Grace Evans.
