Golden Wedding.The fiftieth wedding anniversary oi Christopher and II. A. Lance, of Ster-j ling, Ohio, was clelebrated at their home. Oct. 13th, 1887. A large numberof relatives were present to enjoy thisrare event. A bountiful repast was prepared, which was one of the enjoyable features of the occasion. After dinner Rev. Metzker, (a relative of the family), made some appropriate remarks and to the point, before the presentation of articles, which were numerous and both useful and ornamental, among which were a handsome gold watch. goid*headed cane, gold mounted silk umbrella, gold ring, etc., etc. Mr. Lance responded in appropriate remarks, wall suited to the occasion—of the pleasure experienced in anticipation of the event when the children would come together to celebrate this anniversary.It might be interesting to give a briefhistory or this family.There were born to C. and H. A. Lance, nine children, all of whom are living but one. The remaining eight are all .married. The grand children number forty-live, thirty of whom are living Of great grand children, fifteen, one dead. There were friends present from Iowa, Western Ohio, Wooster, Medina and Creston. Take it all in ail, it was an event long to be remembered by those present, and for the aged couple, who for lifty years have shared eacli others joys and sorrows through the changeful vicissitudes of life.
