Society in the NewsRoosevelt Alumni Hayrack PartyMembers of the Roosevelt Alumni association will enjoy a hayrack party at Lake Hills Country club tomorrow night at 8 o’clock.Refreshments will be served in the clubhouse after the ride.Mrs. Thomas King, chairman of details, is being assisted by Bert Hindmarch, Miss Astrid Carlson, Arthur Feeney, Miss Nettie Bush and John Joyce.Due to the success of last year’s hayrack party the association plans to make it an annual event.Indiana Extension Party Oct. 25A gala Halloween party is now being planned by students of the Indiana university extension division for Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Roosevelt high school.The evening’s festivities f/iil begin at 9 o’clock and will include dancing, games, cards, entertainment and refreshments.Roy Bromblay, chairman of general arrangements, is being assisted by Miss Pat Krell, refreshments; Miss Johanna Einikis; Miss Ruth Wolters, decorations; J. Brady, publicity; Paul Marshall, tickets, and Albert Price, clean-up.Rochester, Minn., early this week for observation.Rev. and Mrs. William Whear and Rev. and Mrs. George Francis along with Rev, and Mrs. O. P. Manker of Crown Point and other Methodist ministers and their wives of the region were entertained at dinner yesterday by Rev. and Mrs. Brody of Griffith.Mrs. Thomas Cotter is somewhat improved at St. Catherine’s hospital where she was taken last Friday when she fell from the steps of her home and injured her back.Miss Eileen Lamb is here this week visiting her parents, the George Lambs. She has a short vacation from her duties in Washington, D. C.Mrs. B. J. Hendin, who has been confined to St. Catherine’s hospital the past two weeks with a broken ankle, returned to her home at 4215 Euclid avenue Tuesday. She is getting along nicely but will be confined for some time.I1avttMiss Jeanette Lacinski, of 4016 Fir street celebrated her 20th birthday several evenings ago by entertaining 25 friends at her home. Miss Bernice Zurawski arranged the party details and the crowd remembered Miss Lacinski with a lovely gift.1:a
