Mrs. W. B. Beardsley returned this week from Poynette. Wis„ where she spent a very pleasant week, attending a reunion of all the former students of Poynette Academy who could attend, and visiting friends of her school days. Some of the girls are still single and teach school, others have married and are presiding over happy homes. Of the young men some are still single, hut the majority have taken unto themselves wives. Some are in the ministry, others in business, and still others are teaching school. After the death of Dr. Green, the president, a few years ago, the school closed its doors. Within the past year some of the former students of the institution, remembering the happy, helpful days spent within its walls, communicated with others and have perfected a plan to raise money enough to reopen the academy. A former student, who has since his graduation fitted himself thoroughly for such a position, has been chosen as president and will conduct the school on a broader, more liberal plan. At the'opening exercises a very good showing of students were on hand, and everything indicates another period of helpfulness for good old I'oy-nette Academy.
