THE PASTOR'S RECEPTION.How the Congregation of St. James A. M. E. Church Honored theirPastor.The members of the St. James A. M. K. church gave a reception in KrTseh hull lust niirlit for the benefit or their pastor, the Itev.A. F. Jackson. The Excelsior Guards put up a remarkably tine drill and then an individual contest occurred for a ailver medal that was won by Sant Wallace Professor Grimes presented the medal to the winner making an appropriate address. Alter this Professor Temple played some ttne*pin * recitals,and then Hr.Starnes delivered an address on the objects oi the meeting eulogising Pastor Jackson, to which that gentleman made suitable response.The remainder of the evening was pleasantly Spent in disposing of the liberal and substan* tiai refreshments there provided and in intellectual recreation.
