Jake was owner of .the South Pella Greenhouse.- For the past 20 years he had been active in carpentry, until the time of his death.- He is survived by his wife, Julia; five children-- Henry Van Wyngarden, Everett, Wash.; Mrs. Bert (Tresa) Bandstra and Mrs. ftoward (Cornelia) fiuitenwerf, both from Pella; Mrs. Doyle (Wilma) Vande Lune, Prairie City: and Mrs. Gerald (Bernice)Hole, Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Van Wyngarden, Pella.He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters - Mrs. Peter (Hattie) Jonker, Mrs. Martin P. (Marie) De Jong and Mrs. Henry (Sophia) Van Buren, and son-in-law Howard W. Buitenwerf who died in 1961.He professed his faith at the Peoria Christian Reformed Church and was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church in Pella at the time of his death.Funeral services were conducted Oct. 8 at the Second Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Henry Petersen officiating.Casket bearers were grandsons Bruce and Tom Bandstra, Alan and Craig Buitenwerf, and Mike and Doug Vande Lune.Interment was in Oak-wood Cemetery in Pella with arrangements under the direction of the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home.Memorials may be designated to the ChristianOpportunity Center.GERTRUDE BOERTJEGertrude Bogaards Boertje, 81, Prairie City, died Oct. 3 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Miones.She was born Dec. 11, 1893 at Peoria, the daughter of Arie and Christina Van Haalen Bogaards.She married Rodger Boertje at Pella on Feb. 10. 19i4 and they spent their married life together on a farm near Prairie City.She is survived by three daughters - Mrs. Harold t Christina) De Vries, and Mrs. Lester (Dena) Van Peursem. both from Prairie City; and Mrs. Michael (Wilma) McCoy.
