MOUNT HOPE (RNS) - Open house was observed from 1 to 7 p. m. Saturday by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wallace, Blake Town, near Hill Top. who celebrated their I 50th wedding anniversary.The couple was married In j Fayetteville on Oct. 9, 1909, and started housekeeping at Turkey Knob. They later moved to Mount Hope, and then to Blake Town in April, 1929. He is 70 years of age and she is 66.The Wallaces are the parents of nine children, with two sets of I twins—two boys and two girls. All children were present and' are: Mrs. Virginia Williams, Centerville, Va.; Mrs. Margaret Edwards. Sophia; Harry Wallace Jr., Centerville, Va.; Lacy Wallace and Leonard Wallace, Charleston; Mrs. Minnie Garcia, Oak Hill; Mrs. Betty Farmer, Mount Hope; Mrs. Lena Wehrle, Charleston; and Mrs. Laura Summers, Mabscott.They have 29 grandchildren, with 23, being present, and six great grandchildren, with three being present for the anniversary.Wallace, a former blacksmith for Oakwood Mine at New River Co., is now retired.Gifts were received for the anniversary. Approximately 130 friends and relatives visited ' during the evening.
