Gottschalk called for them early in the evening and took them riding, stopping at the school house, where the laches and others of the Congregation had gathered. Mr, Griese was presented with a golden bouquet and Mrs, Griese with a golden wreath, amid general congratulations and rejoicing. Then the company entered the church to the strains of a wedding march played by Prof. Himmler. Her. J. Keller, who was pastor of Mr. and Mrs. Griese years ago, next read a scripture lesson, and the Ladies' Aid society sang a hymn. Rev. H. Kowert followed with a sermon from I. Corinthians, 12-26. A return to the school hall followed, and the serving of a fine supper was the next feature of the evening. After the supper Rev. Kowert, on behalf of the Ladies' Aid, presented the aged couple with a golden gift, and Rev, J. Keller delighted all with stories of the olden times. The band and orchestra of the church rendered numerous selections during the entertainment which were highly appreciated.JOSEPH HONORED(I
