Herbert HillsWed 60 YearstHOUSTON, Minn. (Special)— Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hill were honored on their 60lh wedding anniversary Oct. 9 at the home of their son, Richard.The couple received many plants , f tower arrangements and cards. Assisting were the Mmea. Tena Gallagher, Cora Schonlau, S. h. Johnson, Horace Campbell, John Rowland, James Hill and Pan] Baumgartner. Guests attended from Stillwater, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Austin, Grand Meadow . and Nerstrand, Minn.MR. HILL, of Stillwater* Minn., and Nora Blekum, Hou-stem, were marriwl Oct. 6. 1906 at the Methodist Church in Money Creek. They were attended by Mrs. HiU's sister, Miss Caroline Blekum, and Leslie Campbell, now Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Campbell, ci Houston.After the wedding they made their home in Stillwater where Mr. Hill was employed as a guard at the state prison, in 1941 he retired and moved to Houston. During World War 11 in 1943 he was called to Great Falls, Mont., for guard duly a! the airport where he and Mrs. Hill lived until 1948 when they again moved here.In 1931 he was reactivated anil called back in Stillwater where he did guard duty at the prison until 1955. He again retired and went to Modesto, Calif. In 1937 the Hills relumed here whero they are making their home.BEFORE HIS marriage. Mr. Hill served in Co. E, U.S. Infantry Regiment during the Spanish-American War in the Philippines from May JXH to 19W. He is the only Spanish-American veteran in Houston County.He and his wife have three children: Eugene, Davis, Calif.; and Jiles and Richard, both of Houston. There are four grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.Mr. Hill is a member of the Masonic Lodge here and the Winona Consistory. His wife is a 40-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary aid has been active in civic affairs.
