CELEBRATE 60TH WEDDING DAYMR. AND MRS. JOHN BENNETT OF DRAKEVILLE REMEMBERED BY CHILDREN.Drakevllle. Oct. 9.—Mr. and Mrs. John Burnett, who recently celebrated their 60th wedding: anniversary, came from Fulton county. Illinois, 59 years ago. when this county was little more than a wilderness. Ottumwa consisted of a few log: houses along: the river, and there were frog ponds where Main street now is. They first settled In Monroe county, near Blakesburg. After fourteen years thev removed to Davis county, near Drakevllle. Twenty-five years ago they moved to Drakevllle. where they have since resided. Of their family of thirteen children, two died in infancy, eleven grew to manhood and womanhood. Seven arc still living. Also thirty-four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Owing to sickness. but two children were present on their anniver.'liry. Beautiful post cards wort* roc lived from absent children. grandchildren anti relatives In Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri. Iowa, Illinois, and Connecticut. With loving messages, best wishes, congratulations. Their many friends wish this worthy t couple many haonv future years.
