Commission sponsored classes which will begin this month — fun it figure, woodworking for men and women, cake decorating, and knitting. These classes teach new skills and are fun for all who attend.—RC—Recreation Commission Director, Mr. Paul Brodigan. attended the National Recreation Congress In Minneapolis last week. He served as a member of a panel which discussed new recreation standards for personnel and facilities.Nursory School is under full swing with 85 pre-school aged boys and girls enjoying the varied activities. Recently the youngsters worked on little letters to take home to their mommies and daddies. They also learned a turtle finger play which was printed on a gray turtle, and they then cut turtle shells from green paper to paste on the turtles.—RC—Besides the many toys from previous years, there are also many now toys this year for the childrens enjoyment. A-mong them are a variety of new trucks, play high heels with which the little girls enjoy playing dress-up, tea sets, blocks and sandbox toys. There is a sandbox in the nursery school area which Is filled with white sand and which is up on legs so the children stand around it while playing instead of actually getting into it.Ths rUu for hAainninaRo croat ion Commissionsponsored parties are held after high school football games. The Commission supervisors are Mr. and Mrs. A. Hoekstra who are assisted by other parents. Also for young people— the Youth Center for boys and girls of junior high age is now open at the Old Fire House. Each local employment office is responsible for recruiting and placement of farm labor in much the same manner as industrial workers are recruited and sent to j.obs. Any worker who is available for temporary or permanent farm work is urged to register at the employment office or to leave his name with the Volunteer Farm Placement Representative in his community and farmers in need of labor are urged to request the assistance of the employment office or a volunteer representative.
