Since that time, he and his wife have managed a brick apartment complex on the comer of Wells Avenue and Roberts Street.I didn’t expect so many people, said Frank Yparraguirre at his 100th birthday party.By the time a man is 100 years old, he's bound to have accumulated a lot of friends, and the crowd of well-wishers attending Mr. Yparragulrre’s birthday celebration yesterday afternoon proved he has.The centenarian was born Oct. 10, 1864, three weeks before Nevada became a state.Four generations of the honored guest’s relatives attended a noon banquet prior to the 2 p.m. open house at th# Elks Lodge.He was presented with a certificate from Dist. Atty. William Raggio’e office naming him as honorary district attorney,TYi# celebrant received numerous telegrams from friends unable to attend the party, but wishing: to send regards. Among his gifts was a bottle of Madera wine—vintage 1864.Mr. Yparraguirre stood greeting guests near the door, a white carnation in his lapel. His wife, Josephine, 86, sat nearby.He and his wife will be on the platform at the State Building this morning when President Lyndon B. Johnson speaks in Reno.
