The Merry McGrewsrpHE crown for the champion parents in Terre Haute goes to James J. and Maud McGrew for their sixteenth child was born Wednesday morning at 11:25 o’clock at the residence, 1324 South Twenty-fourth. The baby weighed nine and one-half pounds and has been named Richard Wayne.The McGrews were married in Terre Haute twenty-six years ago and have lived here since, except for a short time which they spent in Marion, Ind. All of the sixteen children were born here except Lillian, who was born in Marian, and all are living except the first child, Edna, who died when she was three weeks old. The young McGrews are George, 24 years old; James Jr., 22; Elwood, 20; Lillian, 18; Ruby, 16; Opal, 15; Helen, 13; David, 11; William, 9; Darrel, 7; Donald, 5*6; Leroy, 4%; Evelyn, 2V»\ Mary Ann, 1%; and Richard Wayne, two days. George, James, and Elwood are all married and living in Indianapolis; Lillian is Mrs. Rex Guthrie of North Ninth, and Ruby is Mrs. Wayne Jackson of Jefferson and Voorhees. All of the other children are at home.The proud, father of the largest family in Terre Haute is forty-eight years of age while the mother is forty-two. Mr. McGrew is employed at the Wabash Fibre Box company.
