Lawrence Longs Observe Golden AnniversaryYellow- gladioli and gold leaves decorated the altar of St. Joseph. Church when Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Long of 524 Sibley St., Hammond, celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Oct. lt;2.The couple repeated their marriage vows before the Fit. Rev. Msgr. F. J. Jansen and the mass was celebrated by the Rev. CorneliusBergan. Many of the couple srelatives and friends joined them(Christian CWF Circles Plan EventsThe groups of the First Christian Church Women’s Fellowship will meet this week, according to an announcement from the Hammond church.Time and places of the meetings are group one, Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Lulu Petrie, £37 Williams St.; group two, Wednesday, with Mrs. Roy Young as hostess, at the church; group three, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Mrs. George Bro-nas. 904 Carroll St., and group four, Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Addic Roland, 858 Truman St.• • •GROl-P FIVE, Wednesday at the home of Mrs. George Hay, 5510 Beall Avc.; group six, 8 p.m. Tuesday at tl\e home of Mrs. A. The dinning room was decorated in gold and white with a centerpiece of gold leaves, white gladioli and yellow rosebuds.• • •A LIFELONG resident of Hammond, Mr. Long has been self-employed as a decorator for the past 50 years. He and Mrs. Long w’ere married in Our Lady of Help Church in Ridgcbury, Pa., Mrs. Long’s hometown.After their marriage they came to Hammond where they have lived ever since. Mrs. Long has been active in church organizations and a.lso as vice chairlady of the Indiana Democratic State Central Committee.They are the parents of three children, Mrs. Patricia Stade of Chicago, Mrs. Dorothy Miller of Waukesha, Wis., and the late Mrs. Margaret C’nevigny of Gary. There are 13 grandchildren, the oldest being Julius Chevigny Jr., who is at present stationed in Germany with the armed forces.
