Sand Springs Child Hit By Polio; Receiving Treatment In Iowa CityPolio last week struck at a fam-* ily already pretty well hit by troubles.The little son of Mr. and Mrs.iJoe Picray of Sand Springs, who won’t be 2 years old until after * Christmas, was stricken with the; disease and is now classed as serious in the University of Iowa Hospital, One of his arms is reportedly paralyzed, Little Bobert Picray was admitted to the hos-, pital in Iowa City with the diag-l nosis of polio last Friday.On the same day that her son was diagnosed as a polio victim, Mrs. Picray underwent major surgery at the McDonald hospital. She is reported improving. Mr. Picray, recently seriously ill, is at home regaining his health.The couple are the parents of two other sons, Doug, 4 and Roger, 7. Mrs. Picray is the former Eileen Woeliert of Monticello.* * *Madalyn Chapman, 6-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Chapman, Monticello, Has been removed from the critical list at the University of Iowa hospitals, but is only described as in fair condition.Doctors have changed her diagnosis from polio, but have not completed tests necessary for exact diagnosis.sjt # #Kathleen Kasey, 3-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arless Kasey, Anamosa, returned home Tuesday, Sept. 30, but will return to the hospital for further treatment in another week.
