The Joseph Gaerthoefnersf Observe Their Golden EventThe three-phase celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Goerthoef-ner’s 50-year event was begun solemnly with a high Mass at 9 o’clock Saturday morning at Holy Name Church. Address of the couple is 1413 N. 16th St.Members of the family gathered at The Hoffmann’s at River-dale for a dinner at noon. Between the hours of 5 and 9 o’clock, the reception took place at Holy Name Auditorium.Guests were present from Minneapolis. Hayward, Appleton, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Manitoil;!it;ri.;sr*rnedae.3iswoe, Kiel, St. Nazianz and Val-ders.Sons and daughters of the celebrants presented them with a money tree, floral centerpiece, cymbidiom orchid corsage and yellow rose boutonniere. Grandchildren had a yellow carnation nosegay and boutonniere for each member of the family. Many gifts, flowers and money were presented to the couple.Birth of Mr. Gaerthoefner occurred in St. Nazianz on' Feb. 12, 1883. His wife, the former Marie Kaltenbrun, was born m St. Nazianz also and the datewas Jan. 3, 1885. Their wedding ceremony was held in St. Gregory’s Church in the village on Sept. 27, 1910. Attendants present at the wedding and the golden occasion were Mrs. William Wol-iersheim and Joseph Kaltenbrun.Although he has been retired since 1950, Mr. Gaerthoefner was a Kohler Co. employe for 27 vears.Their church affiliation is with Holy Name parish and Mr. Gaerthoefner is a member of the Holy Name Society, his wife of St. Ann’s Christian Mother Society.Both celebrants are in excellent health.One son, Norbert Goerthoefner, Appleton, three daughters, Mrs. Harlan Schwonek, the Misses Ai-verna and Angeline Gaerthoefner, with six grandchildren, comprise their family.Ar AT
