Golden Wedding Anniversary Hoaglin Twp. Fast of Havllandwhen he sang “I Ix»ve You Truly” and “At Dawning Miss Ringwald played the wedding march from “Lohengrin as the honored coupleentered the church attended bytheir daughter, Mrs. P. O. Berry o!El Paso, Tex, and by their grandson. Captain James Berry of the U. S Army Air Porre who has served with the Air Force in the Pacific area, and who now is stationed in Texas. He flew from I^aredo, Tex. to Fort Wayne to be here for the anniversary cclebra-tioiMr. and Mrs. James V\. Shumaker-I'-Mrs Shumaker wore for the or -casion a white floor length Jersey dre.ss and gold colored ribbon in her hair. She also wore gold earrings, a gold cameo locket which was a gift from Mr. Shumaker, and a corsage of gladioluses and Talisman roses to further carry out the gold color. Mrs. Berry wote a fuchsiashade dress, also fashioned floorlength, and a corsage of gladioluses. Mr. Shumaker won a daik suit and a white carnation boutonniere and his attendant was in military uniform.After the service a wedding din* ner was .served in the church dining room bv the women of the church with arrangements in chargeof Mrs. C. A, Fast of this city, n sister of Mrs. Shumaker. Mowersand candle.s formed flu- table decorations and were in white and gold color. A thrw-tiered wedding lt;ake and a bouquet of flowers which was a special gift to Mrs. Shumaker, had been placed directly in front of her at the table.Dr. C. A. Pa t of this city was toastmaster, and called on various guest, for talks. These included the Rfv. Charles T. Mrs. Shumaker vas born and reared on the farm which is their present home. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mis. Simeon Hickman. In 1912 the couple went to Texas where they lived until 1928 when thev returned to this city and Mr. Shumaker oper-Ated a gasoline service station. Inthe fall of 1935 they removed to their home farm. At the time Of their marriage Mr. Shumaker was \ school teacher.Mr. and Mrs. Shumaker haveonly one daughter, Mrs. Berry, and three grandchilden.Wetsel Orange of which Mr and Mrs. Shumaker are members honored them bv attending the reception in a group in the evening.Tb* guests who were present at the special services and at the dinner were Mrs. Berry and her son.
