50 YEARS — October 24 will mark 50 years of marriage for Mr. and Mrs. John Phaff, who make their home at 1022 4th Ave. S.E., Medicine Hat. Mr. Phaff came to the Walsh district from Odessa, Russia in 1904, with his parents, moving to the Hatton area in 1911. Mrs. Phaff, the former Florence Stahl, was born in Bowbells, N.D., coming to Canada with her parents to the Hatton district in 1911. The couple married in Maple Creek in 1923 and moved to this city in 1948. There are three daughters, Laura, at home; Doreen (Mrs. H. Meidinger) of Cranbrook and Yvonne (Mrs. A. Turcotte) of Calgary; three sons, Reg., of Medicine Hat; Marvin and Clinton, Hatton. Mr. and Mrs. Phaff have 12 grandchildren. A family reunion has been planned for October 7, when relatives and friends will be welcomed at open house in their home from 2 to 5 p.m., followed by a family dinner at the Park Lane Hotel.(NEWS photo by Frank Webber)
