Elijah Davis and wife celebrat-d their sixty-first wedding an-iversary, Tuesday, September 26,t their home near Butlerville. Ir. Davis was born eight-three ear ago on the farm where they ow live. His father, James Dav-i, entered the land from the Gov-rnment in 1820 and it always re-lained in the family. His wife ras bom in Pennsylvania seventy-even years ago but moved to this ounty with her parents when but small girl. They are the parents »f nine children seven whom are till living. Mr. and Mrs. Davis egan to celebrate their wedding inniveasary on their fiftieth-first, nd have not missed since. The lay is looked forward to, not onlyy this aged coupled, but by their nany friends, as one of pleasant ssociation. At an early hour rela-ives and friends came with well illed baskets and many gifts in lonor of the day. A table thirty eet in length was spread in a ;rove of the farm and here all didmple justice to the viands set be-ore them. Otto White, of Northfernon, was present and tookseveral pictures during the day.Mr. Davis been a member of the F. A. M. lodge of Butlerville from its infancy.
