His father 1 was a master mariner and as a youth j Mr. Ireland went to sea. sailing first in windjammers and later in the Royal Navy for a number of years.I He is one of the oldest and most en-thusiastic members of the Gutty Sark Club, the headquarters of which are tin Winnipeg.Mrs. Ireland, who before her marri-age was Sarah Ann Emptage. was born . at Queensborough, Kent. England.| .May 15. 1861.| Mr. and Mrs, Ireland were married h September 28th 188S. at Old Minster „ Abbey Church. Kent. England. They came to Binscarth In June. 1888 and i settled on a farm south of town wherethey resided until a few* years ago.? when they turned over the farm totheir sons and came to reside in town., Both Mr, and Mrs. Ireland are ntemhers of the Church of England.Mjr. and Mrs. Ireland have four aotii and two d mghters. They'are Walter, 1 William and Edward of Binscarth and Townsent of Winnipeg and Mrs.1C. Townsend. Winnipeg and Mrs. i. Crowhurst, Port Art hue. Ont. There are 23 grandchildren.
