Clarkesvillo, the Town That Got Downright Tired of Resting(Special to the Banner.)Clarkcsville, Ga., Sept. 29.β€”In thegood year 1898 Clarkesvillo built a court house and a couple of brick rtores and then rested. In 1906 ablock or concrete stores was built,\and Clarkesvillo rested again. In 1911 tho town helped build the Ninth District A. M. school and completed n solid mJlo of good city streets from one end of town to the other,, apd then tho staid old village of the hills rested some more. But in 1913 Clarkesvillo commenced civic Improvements of sucn magnitude that the end is not yet and the place never expects to rest again along tho lino of municipal growth.Religiously, too, the town is expanding. - All the Sunday schools of tho place, three in number, are well-filled each Sunday morning.The Clarkesvillo Baptist church has Just completed a splendid new Sun* day school department in the basement of tho church, and this church, along tho line of its general progress for the past eighteen months, Is putting in a church library. A gymnasium and other modern church equip-%ment is contemplated for this church. Although Clarkesvillo has a street car system all its own, the population of tho town is but about 700, and some of the city churches might'marvel at tho average Sunday morning attend* ance of the Baptist Sunday school, since It Is over 100. Tho Methodist Sunday school follows with an average of about 76, and the Presbyterian with about 60. All of which Is pretty pood proportionate Sunday school attendance according to the population of the town.
