Julian, past chief of Robeson Rescue Squad, was elected a director o! the State Association oty Rescue Squads organized at Hickory Sunday.George Wentz of Hickory was elected commander and E, N. Dowd of Gastonia vice commander to hold office temporarily until they and the directors can draw a constitution and by-laws which will be presented at a called meeting later. Permanent officers will be elected at the convention. Among j the other five directors was J. G. t Purcell of Laurinburg, ITwelve squads were represented by about 70 people at the meeting.
