Three, complete skeletons were found -'ft few days ago and later four more were^ taken, from the ground. The seven skeletons, were found in a promontory near the shore and lay close beside each other- The excavating is beingdonq by A. E., Chase, who is levelingoff a piece, of land preparatory to him ■-ing a summer'.- cottage. The skeleton* are generally well preserved, but the skulls of several are crushed in on ona side which probably Indicates a violent death. ‘The bodies were laid with ii’lt; faces turned toward the lake. One lt;,f the Indians was buried with his arm around a jar of some kind and underneath the jar was a bed of carefully arranged shells. There is no telling how many skeletons there are on the point, the seven already dug up -being found in a spac e about forty feet square.
