Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Gratton who had their 65th wedding anniversary onSept. 27.Family honors couple on 65th anniversaryAnother milestone in the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Gratton took place on Sept. 27, when the couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.They were married in New Bosford, Nottingham, England, by Vicar A. W. Bell on Sept. 27,1908. They came to Canada andClub CalendarTuesday2 p.m. — St. Matthew’s ACW, afternoon branch, lounge.7 p.m. — A.C.T. ladies auxiliary, potluck supper and meeting, Mrs. Jean Johnson, 302 Russell Street.8 p.m. — Brandon Mental Hospital Graduate Nurses Alumnae meeting, nurses’ residence.Elkhorn four years later where they lived for a year.In 1913, Mr. and Mrs. Gratton moved to Brandon where they have resided since that time. Mr. Gratton was employed by Donaldsons until 1919 when he went into partnership in a butcher shop with J Haw'son. Their store was near the corner of Rosser and Seventh. They were in business for 31 years.The couple has three sons and four daughters. Austin and Leslie live in Brandon, William in Regina, Mrs. Ethel Donogh and Mrs. Jack (Irene) Ennis in Brandon, Mrs. Lawrence (Florence) Birmingham in North Brandon and Mrs. Alfred (Hazel) Palindat in Winnipeg. There are 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.A family dinner was held on Thursday evening at the Twin Pines Motel dining room. Family members included Mr. and Mrs. Austin Gratton, Mrs. Donogh, Mr. and Mrs. Birmingham and Melvin, Mr. and Mrs. L. Gratton, Mrs. W. Gratton, Mrs. J. Ennis and grandchildren, Mrs. John Baraniuk and Mr. Baraniuk, Mrs. George Abey and Mr. Abey and Mr. J. Gratton and Mrs. Gratton.Messages of congratulations were received from HM Queen Elizabeth, Rt. Hon. Robert Stanfield, Hon. Leonard Evans, Hon. Walter Dinsdale, E. R. McGill MLA, and His Worship Mayor W. H. K. Wilton.Between us
