Major Walter Ackland Visits With RelativesMajor Walter Ackland of the U. S. Army ©Ordinance department visited Friday night and Saturday with his mother, Mrs. Ida Ackland, and other relatives and friends.Mrs. Ackland and tlicir daughter, I.eilani, also made the trip to Lau-ens. They -were met in Ames Friday by Fred Ackland and they left Lau-ons by train Saturday evening. This is the second time in 20 years Major Ackland has been in Laurens.Major Ackland has been stationed at Fort Mason near Los Angeles, Calif. He expects to bo Bent out of the country in the near future.
