Observe Silver Wedding AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. Frank Filip observed their 25th Wedding Anniversary Sunday, November 18 at the Shiner Hermann Sons Hall with a get-together partyfor relatives and friends.%Mr. and Mrs. Filip were married November 16, 1937 at SS. Cyril and Methodius’ Catholic Church in Shiner by Father Edmund Bily. They are the parents of .five children; namely, Charles Ronald, who resides with his wife (the former Anita Herman) in Houston; David, Kenneth, Terry and Mark, who are still at home.A delicious supper consisting of barbecued chicken and mutton with all the trimmings was served. The head table was laid with an orchid cloth overlaid with an ecru lace cloth and centered with the anniversary cake which was a three-tiered confection topped with a silver 25th emblem. Orchid sugar-In areas of needed citizenship responsibility, the women in the survey listed volunteering time and effort for community improvement projects as their first goal; being informed on public affairs issues and making views known to legislators, second; and working for better schools, third.spun roses and bells with silver leaves and trim completed the decor. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hagens presented the anniversary cake to the couple as a gift.The serving table held arrangements of seasonal flowers carrying out the silver color theme.The gift table was covered with an ecru linen cloth, on which the many beautiful gifts were displayed. Centering the gift laden table was a Silver Money Tree artistically designed by Mrs. Milton Heimann, bearing clusters of silver dollars, gifts of numerous relatives.The evening was spent dancing to records, and at a later hour all departed wishing Mr. and Mrs. Filip many more anniversaries.Out-of-town guests were from—San Antonio: Mr. and Mrs. Laddie Peters and son;Port Lavaca: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Svatek and family;Point Comfort: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Materanek and son;La Grange: Mr. and Mrs. Don Filip and Donna;Seguin: Mr. and Mrs. Milton Heimann and family;^ Hallettsville: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Herman and family;Houston: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ronald Filip.
