A beauti-be ful birthday cake formed the center-or piece for the long table and* a-happyis family meal was enjoyed by Messrs. le and Mesdames Jay Dodd and (laughers, Guy Boyer and daughter andl(j Franklin Dodd and Miss Marie Weber.On Sunday morning at the Popejoy v I church services, special tribute was ie I Mr 'Chandler. Miss Vera Akers, rS Sunday school superintendents, pre-i-1 rented him with a cake bearing the 1. dates of bis birth and the date 1935,5J also two small flags. Mr. Chandler I- responded* very appreciably. Following r, I tbe churoh services, much to his sur-) prise, a large group of friends and f, neighbors, with well filled lunch bas--1 kets, gathered' at the church dining \ room and spread a. bounteous dinner I in his honor. Here a large birthdlay I cake also formed the centerpiece. The I members of Mr. Chandler's family were also present at this occasion.I Saturday special radio music was f broadcast over the network during the morning, afternoon and evening, as1a special courtesy to Mr. Chandler.School pupils in various departments mailed messages of greeting to him, besides a great number of letters and cards from friends and i relatives from a distance.1 Mr. Chandler received a large bou-. -I quet of chrysanthemums, which were I r wired to ' him by thd W. R. C. of Shef-i : bourne Falls, Massachusetts.. I Mr. Chandler is enjoying unusually ; I good health for one of his years and • is very happy and thankful for all kindnesses shown him.
