Burl Couple Plans 60th AnniversaryBurt: Mr. and Mrs. James Ollom of Burt who will have been 1 married 60 years on December 24th, are in very good health and i recently had a family dinner in 4 observance of the occasion. It was impossible for all the children 1 to be home on the 24th and it was ^ Mr. Ollom’s wish to have the din- ^ ner earlier. Mr. and Mrs. Ollom ' were married in the town of Sigourney, Keokuk county, when -f 19 and 16 years of age. They lived t at What Cheer for some eleven years coming to Kossuth county i in 1903. They lived on the farm then belonging to the Melboum Manns and with the exception of a few months spent in Missouri and Minnesota, this community has been their home.They are the parents of eight children, Ora, who lives in St. Paul, Minn.; Bertha, who is deceased, Mary, who is Mrs. Wm. ICreger, Portland, Oregon; Helen Weiske, Burt; Robert, St. Paul; Roy, also deceased; Zada Smith of Eldora and Gerald of Burt. There are 25 grandchildren, with Judy Weiske, Burt the youngest. Thirty great-grandchildren.Of the children two sons Roy and Gerald served in', the U. S. Navy. Roy having sewed in both World Wars. Seven grandsons also served, with one being killed and three are still in the service, Loren Ollom of St. Paul, Harold Kreger of Austria, Oregon and Dale Weiske.Mr. Ollom was of a family of 12 children and has three brothers living. One lives in St. Paul, one 85 years old in Washington and one in Iowa. Mrs. Ollom was one of a family of nine children. She has two brothers living in Iowa. Mrs. Lloyd Bartlet of near Titon-ka is a niece.The Olloms are members of the Burt Methodist church.
