Welsh, who were married fifty years ago on November 8, observed their *old*»n wedding anniversary onSunday November 7, beginning with alt;pecial Mass at St. Michael s church in Holbrook, a dinner for sixty guests at noon and open house throughout the afternoon.Miss Mary Spratt, daughter ofthe late Michael and Ann SPra« of Holbrook became the bride of Mr. James B. Welsh, son of the late Michael and Ann Welsh' of Cos-grove, on November 8, 1883 in St. Michaels Church at Holbrook with the late Bev. Father King officiating. They were attended by Kathryn Bradley, now deceased and James Beecher who now resides atWest Branch, Iowa.After their marriage the couple made their home on a farm near Tiffin until 1899, then they moved to the farm where they now reside. They have lived here ever since,; excepting one winter spent in Car- ! I1IsI£££esbed, New Mexico, and three Ifears Which were spent in Oxford vhere Mr. Welsh operated a meat narket.Mr. and Mrs. Welsh were the par- *. mts of eight children; three dying ‘ n infancy and the five living were vith their parents for the observance. They, are; William Welsh, Segina Welsh, and Mrs. Irvin L. lier of Iowa City. Mrs. Florence Velsh and Tom E. Welsh of Villxamsburg.
