November 24, 1928: 1Athens to Ardmore, paved, Decatur to Athens: Paved from Decatur six * north, thence good gravel road to Athens 8.5 miles. Main Bee Line highway open. No detours.Decatur to Hartsellc: Paved to Fluit 5 miles, surface treated macadam, Flint to Hartselle 9 miles. Cullman to HarUellc: Paved. Warrior to Cullman: Traffic follow detour from Wurrior to Garden City via Arkadelphia. Pavement now open from Garden Cityto Cullman,Birmingham to Montgomery: Puv-: ed the entire distance.Montgomery to Dothan: Hoad,now open by way of Ada, Troy.*41 ... Vto DeKalb country line under construction. Traffic uses old road which is narrow and with sharp curves, but is in fair condition; some short d tours, but in gocd condition. From the DeKalb county line to Collinsville and Fort Payne to Valley Head chert road in good condition. Valley Head to the Georgia line under construction, but passable at all times.Sulligent, Jasper, Birmingham:From the Mississippi line near Sulligent to Carbon Hill gravel road In good condition. From Carbon Hill to Jasper detour via Nauvoo: detour 28 miles long in good condition. From Jasper to Jefferson county paved. Jefferson county line to within 10 miles of BirminghamNewBuicounty road (chert) in good condition but with dangerous curves. From this point to Birmingham, paved. Birmingham to Anniston road under construction; traffic should go by way of Springvillc. Ashville and Gadsden. From Annls-to Oxford to Heflin to the Georgia State line near Bowdon, Georgia, road in good condition at all times.Montgomery. Talladega, Anniston Guntersville: Road in good condition between Talladaga and Syla-cauga; good from Talladega to Anniston. From Anniston to Gadsden, county chert road in lair condition: thence to Boa/, to Guntersville paved. Montgomery to Sylacauga -gOOd. CMoundsvllle, Tuscaloosa. Winfield: Road is under construction between Moundsviile and Tuscaloosa but passable at all times. From Tuscaloosa to Fayette to Winfield gravel road in good condition.Cuba.
