Their children and grand children have arranged for this event and also a family dinner at noon for 45 guests—all relatives.Mrs. Penrose celebrated herseventy-fifth birthday on September19; her husband was 73 years old on July 4. Both are in good health and active for their years. They are life long residents of the Gogebic range and have resided at Gile for 35 years.Mr and Mrs. Penrose were married on November 27. 1889 at Hurley by the Rev. W. P Burrows at the Methodist Episcopal church. Prior to her marriage Mrs. Penrose was Miss Amelia Ann Sellers and lived at Jes-sievllle. She was born at Ontonagon cn September 19, 1864 and came to Iron wood in 1884.Mr. Penrose was bom at Lake Champlain, N. Y., on July 4. 1867 and moved to Ironwood in 1885.They have had eight children, six of whom are living. They are Mrs. John Sereno. Montreal: WilliamPenrose. Gile: Fred Penrose. Montreal; Marion Penrose, Montreal; Mrs. Harry Bodah, Gile; and Leo Penrose at home. Their 24 grand children and nine great grand children are all also living in this community.Mr Penrose was master mechanic at the Cary mine for 25 years and machinist for 11 years until his re-it!tirement in April two years ago.
