Pleasant Social.A moat pleasant social event took place on Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rankin, south of town, when the twenty-eighth wed-j ding anniversary of Mr. Rankin’s j parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ran-j kin, of Monmouth, was celebrated. Thirty-five friends and members of the family were present and enjoyed a very happy day with Mr. and Mrs. Rankin, to whom the event came as a surprise. At the noofi hour Mrs. Rankin, Jr., served a delicious dinner, and later Rev. Lori-mer presented the felicitations of the company to the guests of honor, to which Mr. Rankin happily responded.Out of town guests were Mrs. Rankins mother, Mrs. Gibb and Mr. and Mrs..White of Stronghurst, Mr. and Mrs. I). R. Gilbb,*of Raritan and Mrs. Charles Oaka of Kirkwood.
