Emma OlsonBROOKINGS — Emma Olson, 74, of Brookings and formerly of Lake Preston died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1993, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls.The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lake Preston Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kent Stillson officiating. Burial will be in North Preston Lutheran Cemetery of rural Lake Preston.Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Johnson-Henry Funeral Chapel in Lake Preston and prior to the service Wednesday at the church.Emma Laughlin was bomJuly 11, 1919, at Madison to William and Nellie (Masker) Laughlin. She graduated from Lake Preston High School in 1937 and then worked at the Green Lantern Cafe in Lake Preston.On March 22, 1942, she married Albert Olson at Brookings. They lived in Lake Preston until moving to Brookings in 1991.Survivors include her husband of Brookings; one son, Wayne, and his wife, Bernadette, of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. James (Barbara) Nail of Olathe, Kan., and Mrs. Duane (Eileen) Skyberg of Madison; and three sisters, Alverda Bolton of Palmer, Alaska, Velma Olson of Gallup, N.M., and Fern Gullick-son of Rapid City.
