Carlstedt-Williams VowsRead In Florida ChurchA former Beckleyan, Mrs. Dorothy Garten Williams of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. became the bride of Edward Roy Carlstedt, also of Fort Lauderdale, on Nov, 14.The ceremony was read at 4 p.m. in Christ Methodist Church at Fort Lauderdale by Dr. Harold Brooks. Church decorations were yellow Fiji mums, peonies and white snapdragons flanked by three large candles on each side of the altar. Wedding music was played by Mrs. Geraldine Curphey.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Garten of Hinton and Fort Lauderdale, and the bridegroom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carlstedt, who lived in Moline, 111.Given in marriage by her son, R. D. Williams Jr. of Gales Ferry, Conn., the bride wore a gown of candlelight chiffon overlaid with gold metallic roses designed with an empire waistline and long tapered sleeves. Her brief veil was attached to a headdress matching her gown, and she carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses and stepbanotis centered with a white orchid. Her jewelry, gifts from the bridegroom, included diamond earrings, and a gold watch set with diamonds and rubies.Mrs. Ralph Marlin of Miami, Fla., formerly of Beekley, was the bride’s attendant, and wore a gown of turquoise crepe withveil to match, and carried a cascade of pink roses and stephanotis.Dr. Vincent VanHom Smith of Fort Lauderdale, was best man and ushers were Carl Mead, Ralph Martin, Jim But-teriU, M. V. Hanshaw Jr. and Bob Macias.The bride’s mother wore a gown of pink crepe with matching accessories and a pink orchid corsage.The reception was held in the Oasis Room at the Holiday Inn with the Mitch Miller Combo providing music. A wedding cake trimmed in gold roses was served, and aides included Mrs. Oriole Bremen, Mrs. McGee Garten, Mrs. June Lasko, Mrs. M. V. Hanshaw Jr., Mrs. Bob Macias, Mrs. Carl Mead and Miss Kathy Martin.The bride wore a dress and coat ensemble of cashmere when they left for a wedding trip, and upon their return they will be at home at 4060 16th Ave., Coral Heights, Fort Lauderdale.The bride attended Beekley and Concord Colleges, was amember of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, belongs to the Fun Club.The. bridegroom attended Augustana College, Rock Park, HI., and belongs to the Fun Club, Lauderdale Yacht Club, Overbrook Organ Club and the Society of American Musicians.Among wedding guests were Mr. and Mrs. J.
