Observe 50th AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. C. W. Gilchrist observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary Friday, Nov. 15. Open house was held from 2:00 until 5:00 o’clockin the afternoon and in the evening from 7:00 until 9:00 o’clock. Many relatives and friends of the couple | lt;called at their home and they also received many congratulatory cards, messages and gifts. At 7:00 o’clock in the evening a family dinner was served in the Lmdeman dining room. Present at the dinner were the hon-11ored couple, Representative and Mrs. Fred Gilchrist, Mr. and Mrs. Led yard Hakes, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gilchrist, | ] jr., and Mrs. Mavis Allen of Laurens, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gilchrist of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gilchrist of Palmer, Charles Gilchrist of Los Angeles, Calif., Miss Mary Gilchrist, Willard Gilchrist, Mr. and Mrs. John Pascal and Leo Shimon of Pocahontas, and Mr. and Mrs. James Gilchrist of Gilmore City. Pierce Gilchrist of California, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilchrist, was not present for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Allen of Des Moines, brother-in-law and sister of Mr. Gilchrist, arrived Friday evening and visited over Saturday in the Gilchrist home.Mr. and Mrs. Gilchrist were married at Havelock, la., by the Rev. Moore. They resided at Havelock and lived for one year at Laurens, coming to Pocahontas in 1902. Mr. Gilchrist is now serving as Pocahontas countydeputy sheriff.--
